The KV-2 tank was built as a continuation of the new tank KV-1, built at the Leningrad "Kirov" factory in 1939. The new tank differed from its predecessor in a tall, larger tower, in which another cannon was installed. It was designed very quickly - the prototype was delivered at the end of January 1940. Due to its powerful armament, this tank is unofficially called "Dreadnought". The tests of the tank gave a positive result, so it was decided to produce a reference series of several units "KV with a large tower" (so it was still marked at the factory). Two or three tanks of the reference series were sent to the fronts of the ending USSR-Finnish war, where these tanks showed their value in destroying fortifications and their armor showed their impenetrability. After this war, despite the mechanical problems, the tanks were sent to serial production. By the time Germany invaded the USSR, only over 200 KV-2 tanks had been produced, most of which were lost in the first weeks of the war due to lack of fuel and ammunition.

A moderately complex, well designed and detailed model for intermediate and advanced modelers. However, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, both the advanced beginner and the modeler with little experience will be able to glue it perfectly.
