Typ 5 “Chi-Ri” was the last tank, designed and manufactured by the Japanese during World War II. It was a completely new generation of tank, weighing almost 38 tons, well-armed and reinforced with armor. The first prototype of the “Chi-Ri” was armed with a 75 mm cannon in a massive tower, a 37 mm cannon mounted on the front panel of the hull. Additional armament consisted of two 7.7 mm caliber machine guns, paired with cannons. Although it was not possible to start series production before the end of the war, it should be noted, that this was a big step forward for the designers of Japanese armored vehicles. The prototype “Chi-Ri” was taken over by the Americans after the cessation of hostilities and taken to the United States, where it was thoroughly analyzed and tested.
The medium-complexity, a well-designed and detailed large-tank model without internal equipment, suitable even for advanced and beginner modelers, who assemble a few more complex models, but it is better for them to stick it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
