AHS "Krab" - a modern Polish self-propelled howitzer (AHS) with a tracked chassis. The first prototypes were created in 2000-2001, but serial production began only in 2015. In total, about 30 examples of this combat vehicle were produced until the turn of 2017-2018, when the Polish army ordered 120. The “Krab” is powered by a single MTU MT 881 Ka-500 engine with a power of 1000 h.p. The combat vehicle is armed with one 155 mm howitzer, mounted in a rotating tower, and one 12.7 mm machine gun. The first conceptual works on the construction of a new 155 mm self-propelled howitzer in the Polish army began in the early 1990s, but there were financial problems, related to the change in the political system, the lack of decisiveness of military and civilian decision-makers, as well as problems in coordinating work in Polish arms companies. “Krab” only started production in 2015! It is also worth adding, that this is a combat vehicle, based on the chassis, developed by “Samsung Techwin” for the K9 “Thunder” self-propelled howitzer, the license of which was acquired in 2014, and the drive unit was developed by the German company “MTU”. The AHS “Krab” can fire high-explosive projectiles at a distance of about 32 km, and, when firing ammunition with a gas generator, the firing range increases to about 40 km. The 11th Masurian, 5th Lubus and 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiments are already armed or will be armed with this type of combat vehicles.

A simple, but well-detailed model for beginners or less experienced modelers. If You take your time, You will do everything carefully and thoroughly, Your collection will be supplemented by a large but beautiful model of modern military equipment. The model is painted in the colors of the 11th Masurian Regiment of the Polish Army.
