In 1938, the British “Nuffield” factory, which was preparing to start production of “Covenanter” tanks, offered a tank of its own production, which used a number of “Covenanter” tank assemblies. It is called Cruiser Tank Mk. VI (A15), later named “Crusader”. One variant of the “Crusader” was the Mk. II, in which the front turret with a machine gun was abandoned, and from the experience, gained in the battles in France in 1940, a conclusion was drawn - reinforced armor. Since the tank's 2-pounder cannon could not fire fragmentation and fugitive shells, a small number of tanks were produced with a howitzer instead of a cannon. The tank received two letters "CS" in the marking, which meant "Close Support". The first "Crusaders" were received by the 1st Polish Armored Division in September 1942. In 1943, the Division consisted of two brigades: the 16th Armored Brigade and the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. The last one included the 10th Mounted Rifles regiment. On average, the regiment's armament consisted of 42 “Crusader” III, 4 “Crusader” II and 6 “Crusader” IICS tanks. Those last ones were mostly tanks of squadron commanders.
From the publication, You can make a model of the tank, that the commander of the 3rd squadron of the 10th Mounted Rifles Regiment fought with. This is a complex model, that requires a lot of attention and patience, even without internal equipment. It is intended for intermediate to average experience and advanced modelers only.
