A13 Mk. III "Covenanter" formed the development chain of the so-called cruiser tanks and was designed as a tank A13 Mk. I, A13 Mk.II and A13 Mk.IIA shift. During its design, the practically tested and proven Christie chassis from the A13 tank and the turret of the future tank A15 "Crusader" were used. Serial production of the “Covenanter” began at the end of 1940 and they were produced until 1943. During that period 1,771 examples of this tank were produced in three factories, but only the “Covenanter Bridgelayer” version, which was widely used by Polish and Australian units, was used in combat conditions. The only tank of this type, lost in the battles, was a Polish machine, that entered the composition of one Polish armored unit in the composition of the British Army. The tank, parked in a technical park of mechanical machines, was hit by a German bomb, dropped during a Luftwaffe raid. Anyway, “Covenanter” served exclusively for school purposes. Used by the Polish 1st Armored Division from 1942 to the end of 1943.
Challenging due to the complicated chassis construction and tower shapes, this well-designed and richly detailed model without interior equipment is intended for intermediate and advanced modelers only. The model is painted with the 1943 autumn camouflage of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, 10th Horsemen - rifle regiment. This brigade, together with the 16th Armored Brigade, formed the 1st Armored Division.
