Pz. Kpfw. II (Panzerkampfwagen II) was a German light World War II tank. The first prototypes were developed in 1934, and mass-produced between 1935 and 1944, with about 1,850 machines produced. The Tank A version was powered by a single “Maybach” HL 57 TR engine with a power output of 130 h. p. It was armed with 1 20 mm KwK 30 cannon and 1 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun, which were mounted in a rotating tower. Pz. Kpfw. II was designed to participate in a tender, announced by the German Armaments Bureau for a light tank, weighing up to 10 tons, armed with a 20 mm cannon. “MAN” won the competition in cooperation with “Daimler-Benz”. Serial production began in 1935, during which several Pz. Kpfw. Tank II variants are made. Chronologically, the first was version A, but it was produced in relatively small quantities. A B version was soon developed, that already had a new, more powerful engine and a replaced chassis. As early as 1937, the C version was developed with a substantially modified chassis and reinforced front body armor. In the late 1940s, a version F was developed, that had stronger armor and a better gearbox, than version C. In 1942, production of the L (“Luchs”) version began, which had a completely new chassis, a new 180t h. p. power engine and significantly increased top speed from 40 km / h to 60 km / h. On Pz. Kpfw. II chassis was also built a number of other combat vehicles, such as the “Wespe” self-propelled howitzer or the ‘Marder II” tank destroyer. Pz. Kpfw. II tanks have been used on almost all World War II fronts since 1942.

A well-designed and maximally detailed light tank model of medium complexity without internal equipment. The model recreates a machine, that was involved in combat operations within the 116 Armored Division as part of the Wehrmacht.
