"ZIS-5" - the Soviet cistern truck - with trailer - cistern

In the thirties of the 20th century, along with the assimilation of mass production of universal trucks, there was a need to produce specialized cars on their base for transporting a certain group of cargo: dump trucks for bulk cargo, cisterns for liquids, isothermal vans for perishable goods, etc. Cisterns with a capacity of 300 liters were widely used for the transportation of oil products, which were produced by the Leningrad “Primiet” plant on the ZIS-5 chassis from the mid-1930s. They were equipped with manual filling pumps and guns for filling fuel. A dozen cars of this type were also purchased by the Lithuanian Army, but their bodies were most likely (as well as other cars purchased by Lietuvos Kariuomenė (Lithuanian Army)) manufactured in Lithuanian companies. Unfortunately, so far, I haven't found a single photo of this car in the Lithuanian Army.

Reworked version of the “Orlik” “ZIS-5” truck with all its pluses and good detailing. This publication includes trailer-cistern model details as an appendix. Both - the car and the trailer - are painted with tricolor spot camouflage. A complex model, that requires a lot of patience. But if you don't do the detailing of the engine compartment, the interior of the cabin, make opaque glasses, simplify the transmission and suspension and work together with a more experienced modeler, then this model can be made by a modeler with little experience.
