Few of us know, that most of the armies, that participated in World War II, with the exception of the Allied armies from 1943 onwards, relied heavily on horses for their transport systems. They were used for towing artillery guns, in supply, communications, de-mining and pioneer units, sanitary service. In September 1939 and throughout the rest of the war, the German Wehrmacht also used an enormous amount of various horse-drawn carriages. Entire infantry divisions knew only one draft force - horses. Until the end of the war horses were used to tow cannons in the artillery, only the units of pioneers and deminers were motorized (and that only in the second half of the war) and most of the sanitary columns (also in the second half of the war), communication units, anti-tank and anti-aircraft defense. Therefore, the German army - due to the size of the land army and the number of infantry divisions - required an unimaginable number of supply carriages. In their army, carriages, like other military equipment, were strictly standardized: there were light carriages - Leichter Heeresfeldwagen Hf.1 (300 kg load), heavy carriages - Schwerer Heeresfeldwagen Hf. 2 (for 500 kg load), small one-horse drawn - Kleiner Heeresfeldwagen Hf.3 (for 200 kg load), small mountain carriages - Gebirgskaren Hf.4. In 1943 the unified vehicle Hf.6, better known as Feldwagen 43, was introduced.

An uncomplicated, well-detailed and designed model for modelers of all experience, recreating the German Hf.6 sanitary vehicle. Only advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The model, without the carriage, includes parts of two horses, carrier and paramedic models. So, a small diorama can be made.
