In 1932 the company "Demag" AG from Vetter (Ruhr), anticipating the future need for light artillery tractors, started designing such a tractor. According to the assigned task, the tractor should have been intended for the transportation of the crew and anti-tank 37 mm and 50 mm caliber, anti-aircraft 20 mm caliber and infantry 75 mm and 150 mm caliber cannons. A prototype, designated D II 1, made according to these provisions, was ready in early 1934. As in the following prototype, it was equipped with a line gasoline 28 h. p. power engine BMW 315. In the third prototype, a line gasoline 42 h. p. power engine BMW 319 was mounted, the power of which was also not sufficient. Therefore, a fourth prototype, D II 4, was built, in which the Maybach HL 38 TRKM engine was installed. He became an example of the pre-production series, which began to be produced in 1937. In 1939, based on the experience of prototypes and pre-production series units, the last version was constructed, which was marked "Demag" D 7 at the factory, and Sd. Kfz. 10at the Wermacht. Serial production of this version started in 1939 and was produced until May 1945. These tractors were produced at Demag AG, Adler, Bussing-NAG, MWC, Saur plants in Germany, Lorraine, Panhard and Simca plants in France after its occupation. In total, about 17 thousand these tractors were produced.

Due to the complicated chassis construction and body shapes, the well designed and richly detailed model with full detailing of the engine, driver and combat compartments, chassis and exterior details, is intended for intermediate and advanced modelers only. The model reproduces the tractor Sd. Kfz. Version 10/5, which was designed for anti-aircraft defense. A 2 cm FLAK 38 20 mm anti-aircraft gun was mounted on its rear platform.
