Heavy low profile trailer P-50N (N = low platform trailer) is designed for fast transportation of tracked and wheeled equipment and other loads, weighing up to 50 tons. It is designed to be driven with a tractor unit on class I-III roads (paved roads) and tolerable terrain without large bumps. The trailer is six-axle with a flat platform. It consists of a frame with platform and ramps, axles with vehicle wheels, brake system, control mechanism, hydraulic equipment and cables. Two two-piece tilting ramps are connected to the rear sloped section for loading and unloading the trailer. Loading and folding is facilitated by the adjustable height of the platform (in the range of 160 mm) and the lateral tilt up to 12 °. Bridges are raised and tilted hydraulically. At the rear of the trailer is a hinge to connect another braking or pushing vehicle. The trailer was developed in the first half of the 1980s at the Research Institute of Construction and Earth-moving Machines in Brno. P-50N to be produced by ZTS Stavostroj n. P. Nové Město nad Metují. In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Czechoslovak military began replacing the P-32 low-profile heavy trailers with the P-50. However, the old low-profile trailers were not completely displaced by the new P-50N.
The "Stavostroj" P-50N heavy duty trailer, released in the "RipperWorks" publication under the code RW-84 is not just a reissue of the model, released a year ago (numbered RW-12), but a completely new version of the same trailer. The trailer can be used to tow the previously released "Tatra" 815VVN or 815VT tractors (reissued as RW-82), as well as the currently released Tatra 813 "Kolos" (RW-83) truck model. As cargo, you can use the VT-55A (RW-85) evacuation tank model, released by this publisher or one of the previously released models ("Stavostroj KNA-251" or "Caterpilar D5N"). You can make a model with folding ramps, a movable draw-bar and, most importantly, with a functional rotation of the entire trailer chassis - the first and second axles turn proportionally against the fifth and sixth (the first and sixth more, than the second and fifth), the system is related to the movement of the draw-bar. It all works on the same principle, as in the original trailer, but the mechanism itself is significantly simplified, compared to the original - mainly to preserve functionality (the actual lever solution is too fragile and unreliable for a paper model). The model is printed with offset printing on 160g/m2 paper, the details are arranged on 6 B4 pages and there are quite a few of them. The manual consists of 8 three-dimensional drawings and 4 simple drawings, in which all the details of the model are located.
