LWS-1 „Landwasserschlepper “– the German combat amphibian

In May 1935, the engineering department of the German Ministry of Armaments prepared the requirements for an amphibious machine for transporting or towing trailers with military cargo. The "Landwasserschlepper" was awarded the contract by “Rheinmetall-Borsing AG” in Düsseldorf. Design and construction work was very slow and only gained momentum after the French campaign, when the possibility of attacking the British Isles began to be considered. 30 machines were ordered, but only up to 23 units were produced by 1945. However, they were rarely used because of their instability and the fact that they were not armored.

A complex but easy-to-assembly model, whose biggest problem - as with all tracked machinery - is the chassis and tracks. Oh, knowing the German craving to make everything as difficult, as possible, it’s clear what a pleasure to look forward to. But in the case of this model, assembling is a real pleasure: the order of assembly is well thought out, although there are no text instructions, but everything is best explained by 3D drawings.
