Chevrolet C15A (cabin No.12.) - Canadian light truck - cistern

In 1939 the British Department of Defense issued a specification for a light military truck, on the basis of which a car designed in Canada, received the designation 15CWT, which meant a carrying capacity of 15 centners (about 750 kg). This project has been approved by the British War Office and is headed for serial production. Despite the fact, that traffic in Canada is on the right hand side, the British ordered cars with the control equipment on the right hand side and adapted to traffic on the left hand side, which is valid in Britain. Production took place in branches of "Chevrolet" and "Ford" plants in Canada. In total more, than 815 thousand trucks of this type were produced with different types of bodies and engines, as well, as armored and unarmored artillery tractors. Installed 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder V-shaped gasoline engines, different cabs (No. 11, No. 12 and the most popular No. 13).
