The operations at Guadalcanal showed the command of the Imperial Japanese Army, that it was necessary to have vehicles in the arsenal, capable of delivering supplies directly from the transport ships to the shore and carrying them on. At the same time, the Japanese Imperial Navy had several types of transports, that could not only sail in water, but also operate on shore (the Type 4 "Ka-Tsu" amphibious assault ship is one of them). "Su-Ki" became a temporary measure, until larger and more combat-ready trucks were designed. The "Su-Ki" was also designed for warfare in the Pacific Islands. Produced from November 1943 to July 1944 all-wheel drive 65 h. p. power, on the basis of the truck "Toyota" 4 x 4 Truck "To - Ki". A total of 198 amphibious trucks were produced. Cars used in Salomon, Gilbert Islands and Ellis Island operations. Here their shortcomings became apparent - the structure was too weak and needed to be strengthened. "Toyota" later designed an improved version, but it remained in the prototype stage.
A model of medium complexity, well detailed, requiring care and attention for modelers of all experience. All external and visible parts of the chassis, cargo platform, suspension elements, propeller-rudder group, control cabin interior are perfectly restored in the model. And, although there are a lot of details, the model is not complicated, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, even an advanced beginner modeler can glue it perfectly. The parts are double-side printed, where needed, and there are parts for three fuel drums and several ammo boxes, that can be placed on the cargo platform. Excellent graphic instructions, there is a considerable stock of colors.
