The history of the "Tatra" family of trucks begins in the early seventies of the 20th century, when it was decided in Czechoslovakia to design and start production of a series of unified trucks, capable of solving all tasks. In the future, they were supposed to replace the cars of the Tatra-148 and Tatra-813 series. In 1971 it was finally decided to finance this project and transfer its implementation to the national company "Tatra". The first Tatra-815 trucks were produced in 1979. Then a whole range of cars for various purposes was presented. After several improvements and comprehensive tests, the newcomer went into serial production. The Tatra-815 base includes a number of special vehicles for various purposes: a dump truck, a flatbed truck, a gasoline truck, a drilling platform (used in Australia and the USSR and current Russia), a mobile crane, an excavator, a concrete mixer truck, a semi-truck and many other purpose trucks. The edition presents a military pontoon transporter "Tatra-815" on VPR 9 28 265 8x8 base, designed to transport PMS parts of the pontoon system.
One of them will be on Your glue-on model, which is perfectly designed and very richly detailed for a model of this scale. The model is intended for intermediate and advanced modelers only. The truck can be assembled both with and without full cab equipment, all wheels turn, the front ones are also steerable, a fully detailed engine compartment, the hoods of which can be opened. The car can be painted in the colors of the Self-Defense Forces of the Czechoslovak Republic or the Army of the Czech Republic. There is a piece of clear plastic for glazing the windows. Can be completed with the boat model MO-634, which is issued by "Ripper Works" in edition RW-50. By the way, the same type of pontoon bridge equipment was also used in the Lithuanian Army on the chassis of the KrAZ - 255B truck for the first dozen years. Therefore, it can be perfectly used to make a "Lithuanian" version of a pontoon carrier.
