Pz. Kpfw. II (Panzerkampfwagen II) was a German World War II light tank. Its first prototypes were created in 1934, and it was serially produced between 1935 and 1944, with a total of about 1,850 machines produced. The A version of the tank was powered by a single “Maybach” HL 57 TR engine with a power of 130 hp. It was armed with 1 20 mm KwK 30 cannon and 1 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun, mounted in a rotating turret. Pz. Kpfw. II was developed after the German Ordnance Office issued a tender for the construction of a light tank, weighing up to 10 tons and armed with a 20 mm cannon. The tender was won by “MAN’ in cooperation with “Daimler-Benz”. Serial production began in 1935, during which many Pz. Kpfw. II tank variants were constructed. Chronologically, the A version was the first, but it was produced in relatively small quantities. Soon, the B version was created, which already had a new, more powerful engine and a modified chassis. Already in 1937 the production of the C version began with a fundamentally changed chassis and reinforced front body armor. At the end of 1940 the F version went into production, which had stronger armor and a better gearbox, than the C version. In 1942 the L ("Luchs") version began to be produced, which had a completely new chassis, a new one 180 hp. power engine, thanks to which the maximum speed of the combat vehicle increased significantly - from 40 km/h to 60 km/h. On Pz. Kpfw. II chassis was also equipped many other combat vehicles, such as the “Wespe” self-propelled howitzer or the “Marder II” tank destroyer and the “Flamingo” Flammpanzer II - self-propelled flamethrower. Pz. Kpfw. II" tanks were used on almost all fronts of the II World War, and from 1942 - on secondary fronts and as a weapon in the rear of SS units. They were used until the end of the war.
A complex, well-detailed model without interior equipment, you can choose one of two paint options: Germany 1940 and Operation "Barbarossa" 1941. The model, despite the fact, that it is "German", is not very complex, so it can be recommended to make even for a modeler with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Of course, you should not rush and accurately follow the instructions - this model does not allow mistakes and rushing.
