In 1929, the German company "Daimler-Benz" conducted tests with the "G-3" type chassis. The bodies of 8-14.5 mm thick armor plates, designed by “Deutschen-Werke” AG, are mounted on it. The car was marked with the symbol "G-3", the armament was mounted in a rotating turret and consisted of an MG-13 machine gun. At the same time, tests of the armored car took place at the company "Bussing-NAG" AG (chassis M-206 was tested) and at the company "Magirus" (chassis MG-31). All the test cars used the AG chassis of the company "Deutschen-Werke". The final armament was the KwK 30 - 2 cm cannon - and the MG-13 machine gun. Cars, manufactured by “Daimler-Benz” had another MG-13 machine gun, installed on the driver's side. But serial machines no longer had this weapon. Cars of the first series entered service in 1932. One of the versions of this car was Sd. Kfz. 232 - communications armored car with frame antenna. After 1933, this type of machine became the standard weapon in the newly formed reconnaissance units of the Wermacht. These machines are produced in three versions: Sd. Kfz. 231, St. Kfz. 232 and Sd. Kfz. 263. Production continued for 4 years and was discontinued in 1936.

A model, that can be made from the publication, depicts Sd. Kfz. 232, manufactured by “Bussing-NAG” and was used in the initial phase of the war with Poland in September 1939. Although the model is of medium complexity, with the interior of the combat compartment and turret, a perfectly restored chassis, but without the engine compartment, it is best for assemble even for advanced beginners, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
