Sd. Kfz. 250/3 „Greif“ – the German armored transporter

The successful trials of the medium armored transporter led the Wehrmacht to order a lighter and smaller machine for reconnaissance units. The semi-tracked chassis of the "Demag" company artillery tractor was used. The new construction exceeded all expectations. It had good running parameters and was initially intended to arm only reconnaissance units, but rather quickly won wider positions of use in infantry, artillery and armored units. In total about 12 specialized versions were produced. The model You will make, recreates the appearance of the armored transporter Sd. Kfz. 250/3 Leichte Funk Panzerwagen for the communication support of mechanized units. Used by General Erwin Rommel's Gefechtsstaffel Panzerarmee “Africa”. The Gefechtsstaffel usually consisted of three such machines (two had the names: "Adler" and "Greif").

A fairly complex model of an armored transporter with full combat and engine compartment equipment, perfectly restored chassis and exterior detailing. The model is only for intermediate and experienced modelers, because, even if we do not make the engine compartment, the open combat compartment "obliges" to restore it. Therefore, modelers with little experience should not attempt to make this model at all.
