BMP-3 (Object 688M) - Soviet infantry fighting vehicle, designed for the dual purpose of transporting infantry as close, as possible, to the site of combat operations and providing heavy fire support on the battlefield. Its development began in the 1970s, when the "Kurganmashzavod" engineers first generated the idea, and the design continued until the 1980s. In 1987 the BMP-3 entered service in the Soviet army and became an integral part of their armored units. One of the most striking differences between the BMP-3 and its predecessor, the BMP-2, is the armament. While the BMP-2 was armed with a 30 mm 2A42 cannon and a 9M113 "Konkurs" grenade launcher, the BMP-3 featured a much more powerful armament. Its 100 mm 2A70 semi-automatic cannon combined with the 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon gave it an advantage over any armor and allowed for powerful fire support. During its relatively short service in the Soviet Union, the BMP-3 successfully performed its intended roles. He later served in the Russian Army and is still serving. The BMP-3 was exported to many other countries. The BMP-3 underwent the 1.93 "Shark Attack" update, which moved her to a higher IFV tier. Unlike previous BMP variants, these vehicles can fire ATGM-type ammunition from the main gun. However, there is an option to select HE rounds for destroying lighter targets and they can be loaded faster, than ATGM rounds. In addition, the BMP-3 still retains the capabilities of the previous variants, especially the BMP-2.
A complex, well-detailed and well-designed model of a small combat vehicle in unusual color camouflage for intermediate to advanced modellers. There are details, printed with double-sided printing, there is no color stock, but a little of it can be "combined" from the pasting boxes for the other side of the details, if we use them sparingly. The graphic instruction is small, but quite detailed, the textual one is larger and more detailed. Perfectly restored chassis, exterior detailing, interior equipment not detailed.
