In the first half of the 1930s the leadership of the Japanese army decided to increase the level of motorization of the ground forces. As a result, a number of prototypes of all-terrain trucks, artillery tractors and infantry armored personnel carriers were built. But only at the beginning of the 1940s, thanks to the experience, gained from the European fronts, the work intensified and thus the Type 1 "Ho-Ki" transporter appeared. It is produced in three versions: as a classic infantry armored transporter, a supply transporter and an artillery tractor. The engine is installed in the front part of the machine, but the drive mechanism is in the rear. The body is welded, the landing compartment is open top. The driver's door is on the left, behind it is the commander's door. The control compartment and engine equipment are located in the front near the cab. Diesel engine 90 or 130 h. p. power, the transporter could reach a speed of 42 km/h and travel up to 200 km with a single refueling. The "Ho-Ki" was a highly advanced transporter, characterized by strength and durability, high survivability and excellent maneuverability. Used in battles in the Philippines, Burma. The Japanese used them even until the 1960s.

The model is not complicated due to the flat surfaces and the level of detailing - there is no detailing of the engine compartment, cabin equipment, the landing compartment is minimally detailed, the chassis is perfectly restored (which will "eat" the "lion's share" of the time), exterior details. But beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time.
