The M3A1 armored personnel carrier was designed and manufactured at the “White Motor Company” factory in the USA shortly before the start of World War II. According to the idea, it was supposed to perform the functions of a fast reconnaissance armored car, armed with machine guns. The armor was made of 6.25 mm (1/4 inch) thick armor plates, that protected the crew from small arms fire and shrapnel. Only the front armor plate, which covered the front windows, was 12.5 mm (1/2 in) thick. The main armament of the M3A1 consisted of a large-caliber 12.7 mm machine gun with a stock of 750 rounds and a heavy 7.62 mm machine gun with 8,000 rounds ammunition combat stock. Both machine guns were mounted on racks, that could be moved freely on a rail around the entire perimeter of the crew cabin. These armored vehicles were used for a variety of tasks: artillery tractors, ambulances for the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, as mobile command posts and headquarters vehicles. According to the "Lend-Lease" agreement, about 3300 units were provided to the Red Army. In 1943 - 1945, the Polish armed forces fought with them on the Western Front. A small number of these tanks were also used by the post-war Polish People's Army. A total of 20 894 M3A transporters of all versions were produced.
A complex, medium-sized, well-detailed and well-designed model with full detailing of the engine compartment, cockpit, cargo platform, armament and chassis. The model is only for intermediate and experienced modelers, but without doing the cockpit equipment, engine detailing and simplifying the chassis, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model can be glued together by a modeler with little experience. The model reproduces the machine used by soldiers of the 24th Uhlan Regiment of the Polish 1st Armored Division on the Western Front in the battles in France in 1944.
