AB - 41 “Autoblinda” - the Itallian armored car

The FIAT SPA AB-41 was the best Italian armored car, used by the army and police and the Wehrmacht units. In 1938, the FIAT factory introduced a wooden model of a new armored car to the colonial police. After several rebuilding’s, serial production of the AB - 40 began in 1940, and an improved version of the AB - 41 began production in 1941. The main change was, that a 20 mm cannon was installed, instead of one of the machine guns. A total of 647 units were produced during World War II.

The model depicts a machine, taken over by the Polish Carpathian Ulan Regiment in Egypt in 1942, which was later transported to Scotland and tested comparable to British machinery there.
