Trabant 601 - "soap box", "cardboard car", "trabi" - these are just a few nicknames, attached to this car, which was quite popular in its time not only in the German Democratic Republic. It was the result of further development of the AWZ P70 small car. The body of the “Trabant” was made of duroplast, a synthetic material, obtained by mixing epoxy resin with shredded cardboard (hence the nickname "cardboard car"). Due to the use of such material, the car body was more resistant to crushing, corrosion and safer in case of fire, because duroplast did not burn. The car is equipped with a small-liter engine, large-area windows are installed and the interior is made maximally spacious. A total of 3,096,099 cars of this brand were produced. At the time of German reunification, over 2 million "Trabies" were still in use. They were exported to Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Holland, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and even Egypt. The 601 model of the car, reproduced in the publication. was started in 1964. Germans loved to travel and to their small "Trabies" often attached rather large trailers - campers "Wurdig 301", the production history of which dates back to 1936, when these began to be produced in the factory, located in Bad Duben, Saxony. After the war, production resumed, because during the war Germany did not care about this production at all. In total, over 2,200 units of these trailers - campers - were produced

Simple car and camber – trailer models, perfect for beginners and less experienced modelers. Due to the small number of details, simplifications and not very complicated shapes, even a modeler, gluing one of the first models, will perfectly glue it independently, without any help from more experienced colleagues. But it's more fun, when You build models together in a company...
