The history of the “Polonez” 2500 “Racing”, better known as the “StratoPolonez”, began in 1977. Then the first “Polonez” cars, made by the FSO factory, rolled off the conveyor. Almost at the same time, Andrzej Jarosevicz, one of the most famous participants in the Polish multi-day race, crashed his Lanchia “Stratos” car during the “Rajd Polski” race. The body no longer suited anyone, and the engine and entire chassis paid off with only minor scratches. This gave rise to the idea of "lifting" the Polish body of the “Polonez” on an Italian chassis. The task, that the engineers set themselves, was not easy. The only thing common among the cars was, that they were cars, everything else was different as day and night. But nothing is impossible for the wishful. The engine, power transmission system and suspension and bottom plate were simply welded in place of the bottom of the “Polonez”. The center is equipped with a V6 2.4 l 240 h. p. engine, the “STAR” truck's radiator in the cooling system, the suspension and brake system are left unchanged from “Lanchia”. Air intake ducts and ventilation holes in the front and rear cladding panels, air intakes in the side panels and in the rear door for the engine have been made, control and steering equipment has been changed, and a number of other changes have been made. Work on this hybrid was completed in 1978 and he has competed in a number of races, although the first one has not even been tested before. Participated in the race until 1985, still fully fit for racing was transferred to the Museum of Technology and Industry.

Not very complicated, well-designed, moderately detailed model - there is an interior of the control cab, the engine compartment is only drawn with a few elements. The model is perfect for any experienced modeler, only beginners and inexperienced modelers are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
