ZAZ-965 "Zaporozhets" - Soviet microliter passenger car, produced in 1960-1963. ZAZ - 965 is a legend of the Soviet automobile industry. The history of the model goes back to the 1950s, when an inexpensive and compact car was needed in the post-war USSR. Many prototypes were created. Finally, the Italian FIAT 500 was taken as the basis of 965. However, the responsible approach of the designers made it possible to create a more modern design, than FIAT, there is a well-defined trunk, which contributed to the appearance of the nickname "luggage". The ascetic "Zaporozhets" salon is designed for 4 people. During the operation of the first "Zaporozhets", a number of shortcomings were identified. This is a lot of noise in the cabin, frequent overheating of the engine in the hot season and a small trunk. However, this had no effect on the popularity of "Zaporozhets" - most people liked the car, because of its charisma and uniqueness. The ZAZ - 965 4-speed gearbox is installed together with the engine as a single unit. "Zaporozhets" has drum brakes. The suspension is made by analogy with the German "Kafer" - two torsions with transverse levers, to which the so-called fists were attached. The car ZAZ - 965 was on the assembly line for 9 years. "Hunchback" (another nickname for 965) became the hero of many films. Jokes and anecdotes are made about him. However, this did not prevent the 965th "Zaporozhets" from becoming the idol of the era of cars of the Soviet era. Many of them also rolled on the roads of the Lithuanian SSR, and many remained in free Lithuania. Even now, almost no parade of old cars is complete without "Ladybug" - another nickname.

Although small, but complex - especially due to the sheet body covering - a model for intermediate and experienced modellers. Even a simplified version without detailing the cabin, engine compartment and trunk will be too difficult for less experienced modelers. Where necessary, details are double-sided printed. The rather large graphic instruction is quite clear and informative. There is a considerable stock of colors. And converting this model into Lithuanian is quite easy - just add new numbers (Lithuanian SSR, Lithuanian or antiquarian car numbers). You don't even need to change the color, because there were the most blue ones - unless you really wanted to.
