The production of topless medium-tonnage trucks "IFA W50" in the German Democratic Republic began in 1965 at the new factory in Ludwigsfelde. Two versions of cars were produced, differing in the length of the base (3.2 or 3.7 m) and the total number of modifications amounted to several dozen: flatbed trucks, dump trucks, semi-trailer trucks, vans, utility vehicles, army trucks, fire engines and many other modifications. The car is equipped with a 4-cylinder 6.6-liter engine with a working volume of 125 h. p. power diesel engine, working through a five-speed gearbox. In 1971 the IFA W50LA, a front-wheel-drive variant produced, alongside the rear-wheel-drive truck "IFA W50L", began to be delivered to the USSR, other Eastern European countries and some countries in Africa, Asia and South America. Cars were produced until 1990, when the "IFA" company practically ceased to exist. Over 571.8 thousand units of this model were produced.

Maximum detailed and perfectly designed model with fully detailed cabin interior, cargo platform, transmission, engine compartment, painted with GDR Military Forces camouflage. It seems like a model only for intermediate and experienced modelers, but... Working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, it can be perfectly glued to the full version even by a modeler with little experience. It can be glued together by an advanced beginner modeler, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, and doing the opaque glass, not the cockpit, engine compartment detailing, but the transmission and suspension.
