JELCZ GCBA 13/48 - the Polish fire truck

JELCZ 004 is a heavy fire-fighting vehicle, manufactured at the “Jelcz Automobile Factory”. These cars are assembled on the JELCZ P315MS truck chassis, which is equipped with a turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. There are 4 crew seats in the cabin. The car is equipped with 6000 l water and 600 l foam mixture tanks. An automatic pump A32 is equipped, which can deliver 3200 liters of water or foam mixture per minute. These fire fighting vehicles are also adapted for firefighting on the move. Two water cannons can be operated simultaneously or 4 hose lines supplied with water and foam mixture. According to the designations, adopted in Poland, cars of this type are marked with the symbols GCBA 6/32. JELCZ 004 was one of the most successful cars in the Polish Fire Service and received a number of modifications: "JELCZ 006/1" - GCBA 11/45 (one prototype produced in 1976), "JELCZ 010" - GCBA 5/32 (6 places in the cabin, two produced prototypes in 1986, serial production in the nineties). JELCZ 013 GCBA 13/48 was a further development of this family. It is based on the JELCZ JS 640 Bn truck, which was developed together with “Steyer-Daimler-Puch” AG.
