The opening of the "KamAZ" plant in 1969 was determined by the great need for the production of a universal and modern truck in the USSR. These trucks were supposed to replace the old and already morally outdated "ZIS" and "ZIL" trucks, which no longer satisfied the service of the increased flow of cargo transportation. The first KamAZ truck rolled off the assembly line on December 16, 1975. Later, the best specialists of MAZ and ZIL were lured to KamAZ, and they created the latest versions of the truck with a diesel engine. This is how trucks with a "box" cargo platform, tractor-trailers and dump trucks appeared. These trucks are equipped with new V-8 engines with 5-speed transmissions and 2-speed transfer boxes and ABS system. The carrying capacity of these cars varied between 11 and 14 tons depending on the version. Until 1980, "KamAZ" produced about 150 thousand. trucks, the amount of machines produced in 1993 reached 1.5 million. By 1999, more than 1.6 million were issued. KamAZs and about 2 million diesel engines. KamAZ still produces a full range of trucks in Russia and 9 of its plants in other countries. The model, which is very well designed and richly detailed, recreates a truck used in Poland - a dump truck with a V-8 240 a. g. power engine. These trucks are also widely used in the Lithuanian SSR and the Republic of Lithuania. Even now - more than 30 years after the restoration of independence - they can still be found on our roads, construction sites, and industrial enterprises.
By the way, in order to make a "Lithuanian" Kamaz, it is enough to change the number plate, because the color scheme of most surviving trucks has not changed significantly. It is also possible to make the symbol of a specific company and stick it in the right place. The model of the "ADW Model" group of the "Answer" publishing house is intended only for intermediate and experienced modelers, because the abundance of details will remain, and there is not much to simplify - the model reproduces everything, that is in a real car.
