In May 1924, the Ministry of Military Affairs signed with “Z.M. Ursus” contract for 3 tons truck “Berliet” CBA and 1.5 tons of S.P.A. 25 / C “Polonia” delivery, which allowed the companies to expand their plant in Chekhovice near Warsaw. Delivery was to be made in 3 batches, 200 “Berliet” and 150 S.P.A: the first batch was to be imported, the second was collected from imported parts, and the third was to be entirely locally produced. Unfortunately, the ministry's consent was later received to bring the second batch of complete “Berliet” cars out of production, but to replace them with 1.5 tons of S.P.A. 375 pcs. The first batch of 52 “Ursus” trucks, already manufactured in Poland, was demonstrated in 1928. July 11 and from the original S.P.A. had differences in adaptation to Polish conditions. Design office, headed by engineer. Witold Jakusz, create several new versions of “Ursus A”. Production was stopped in 1931. About 1,200 of these vehicles were produced, although other sources say only 884 (509 civilians and 375 military). Their good quality was confirmed by their participation in the Warsaw-Zakopane-Warsaw rally and the fact, that they entered the snow-capped Gubaluvka Mountain, when foreign competitors withdrew from the rally due to extreme cold and difficult terrain.
37 mm “Bofors L / 45 / M” - Swedish anti-tank cannon of the interwar period. The cannon was designed by “Bofors”. This type of cannon is manufactured in Poland under license. In 1936 the Polish army accepted it as an armament and marked it “37 mm anti-tank cannon wz. 36". At that time, the cannon was assigned to infantry (riders) and not to artillery units. The anti-tank units and companies were organic sub-units of the infantry regiments (independent battalions), and the two anti-tank divisions formed, were considered to be units of the infantry and cavalry. The crew of the Westerplatte military transit warehouse were armed with two cannons of this type.
