IJN "Akizuki" (秋月, "Autumn Moon") - a Japanese destroyer from World War II. The lead ship of the "Akizuki"-class destroyer series. The ship's hull was laid down on July 30, 1940 at the Naval Arsenal in "Maizuru". Launched July 2, 1941, entered service June 11, 1942. The first representative of this series of destroyers and its first subtype ("Akizuki'). After entering service, "Akizuki" made its first voyage on June 15, 1942, escorting the aircraft carrier "Zuikaku" to the Aleutian Islands. From June 29 to July 18 the destroyer escorted the transport "Kamakura Maru" from Yokosuka to Makassar and back. On August 13-21, he also escorted the transport "Naruto-Maru" from Yokosuka to Rabaul with a call at Kavieng. In the battle near the eastern Solomon Islands on August 24-25, "Akizuki" was part of Admiral Nagumo’s aircraft carrier formation, providing its air defense. The destroyer spent September, based at Truk and going out to sea on patrol with the rest of the fleet. On September 27-29 ship moved to Shortland, safely surviving an attack by B-17 bombers en route. Destroyer sank as a result of a torpedo hit on October 25, 1944. On December 10, 1944, "Akizuki" was removed from the lists of the fleet.

An excellent -designed and richly detailed model of a medium-sized warship for intermediate and advanced modelers. Where necessary, full sheets are double-side printed, and there is a small color reserve. The print quality is excellent, there are no text instructions, the graphics are large and detailed. The model represents the ship as it was in 1942.
