About 1241, the Crusaders built a wooden guard post on the ancient Prussian mound, which in 1273 was handed over to the diocese of Warmia-Lidzbark. In 1350, instead of a wooden post, building of a brick castle began, the building of which took place in several stages and was completed in 1401. In 1466 Reszel was incorporated into the Crown State of Poland, in 1505 defensive walls were built around the castle, and fossils were later excavated. Beginning in the seventeenth century, when castles lost their defensive value, like most of them, they were abandoned and destroyed. Of course, not without the help of the townspeople. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the restoration of the castle began with the restoration of the main tower, which lasted until 1985, when the castle was visited again. True, some of it is still being rebuilt.
The medium complicated model for intermediate and experienced modelers, but also for beginner modelers, we only advise them to assemble this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
