The first mention of the Warmia Chapter Castle in Olsztyn in written sources is found in 1535, when Olsztyn was granted city rights. Olsztyn Castle was very different from other castles, built by the Teutonic Knights. It has a quadrangular plan with an outer tower, a large residential building and a sizeable gate tower - which allows it to be compared to the Episcopal Castle of Reszel, also located within the Diocese of Warmia. During the Thirteen Years' War, the castle was captured by the Crusaders. Since 1466, Olsztyn, together with the whole of Warmia, has been annexed to Poland. The castle has been rebuilt many times, at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries fortifications adapted for the use of artillery were built. Now it hosts presentations of art collections, displays of writings, documents, and historical relicts. The representative first floor of the Northern Gothic style wing is open for visitors. Visitors are also allowed to climb the watchtower, from which you can see the whole of Olsztyn and the surrounding forests.

A not too complicated, beautiful castle model, that even beginner modelers can freely glue together under the supervision of a more experienced modeler, but it should not be one of the first more complex models. Well, an experienced modeler with two or more magazines can make this model almost as majestic, as the original itself.
