“Wolfsschanze” - Hitler's bunker in Gierlozi (Polska)

The “Wolf's Wrath” is one of Hitler's best-known bunkers, where the commander of Reich III spent most of World War II - more than 800 days. The location in the Gierlozi forest for the bunker was not chosen at random - close to the borders of the USSR, which Hitler was preparing to attack, and attacked on June 22, 1941, the dense forest masked all the buildings well, providing a quiet and safe environment. In addition, there were good roads and railways nearly. From here, Hitler commanded the entire course of the war, where he was attacked during “Operation Valkyrie”. On January 24, 1945, as the front approached, all the major bunkers were blown up, but the ruins still make an impression and are frequently visited by tourists.
