Litomyshl Castle - palace - one of the most striking examples of Renaissance palace-type architecture in Eastern Europe, recognized as a World Heritage Monument in 1999. It is located in the Czech Republic in the city of Litomyshl. The palace acquired its current appearance in 1568 - 1581, when it was rebuilt, according to the architect Giovanni Battista Aostali (1510 - 1575) for the supreme chancellor of the Czech kingdom, Vratislav II of Pernstein. The Neo-Gothic St. Monica's Chapel, according to local traditions, the outer walls of the castle are decorated with sgraffito painting. After the Pernsteins, the castle was successively ruled by the Trautsmandorfs (until 1753) and the Waldsteins. In the 18th and 20th centuries the interior decoration of the palace was repeatedly updated, according to the fashions of the time. During the reign of the Trautmansdorfs, the so-called Hall of Mirrors was decorated with battle canvases, depicting the victories of Eugene of Savoy. In 1796 Count Valdstein ordered the installation of a theater stage near the castle, which has survived to this day. The interior decoration of the theater was entrusted to the palace artist Dominyk Dvorjak. The count himself and his relatives also acted in theater productions. In 1855 the castle was purchased at an auction by the Turn-i-Taksis princes, who occasionally stayed in the Litomyshl Palace even until World War II. After the war, the castle was nationalized and the Czech Music Museum was established there. An opera festival is held here every year. This is due to the fact, that the famous Czech composer Bedrzich Smetana was born in this castle in one of its annexes.

A large and complex building model, richly detailed and well designed. The model is intended for intermediate and advanced modelers only. True, the graphic instruction looks poor, but it shows all the stages of gluing the model and the places for gluing the parts.
