Hradec na Nechanice Castle is 15 km from Hradec Kralove. It stands on a low hill, called Lubenský vrch, near the village of Hrádek. The village got its name from the medieval fortress, that stood here from the end of the 14th century and belonged to Bořek from Hrádek. The fortress was demolished in the 16th century. The castle was built during the Romantic period, during the revival of historical styles. Architects were often inspired by Gothic styles and imitated the architectural motifs of medieval castles. At first glance, the castle must have given the impression of a medieval castle. The building is built in the Tudor (English) Neo-Gothic style. It is characterized by the connection of the blunt upper part of the roof, and the contours of the buildings are enriched by masonry elements. Another significant element of English Neo-Gothic is the so-called Tudor arch (wide-angle arch), used mainly for gate portals and windows. The pretext for the building of the castle was the unrealized project of the English architect G.H. Lamb for the reconstruction of Crewe Hall Castle. The young Viennese architect Karel Fischer was assigned to lead the building works, who reworked Lamb's plans and designed the castle's interiors.

The publication presents to You this well-designed and richly detailed model of a rather large and beautiful building of medium complexity, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, will be assembled by both an advanced beginner and a modeler with little experience. Assembly instructions are available in Czech, German and English. Complex and simpler assembly options are available.
