The beginning of the parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church began with the reformation in Prussia. St. Jacob's Church, otherwise known as the landowners' church, officially called Litauische Kirche Memel (Lituanian church in Klaipėda) was built in 1525-1535, near the river Dane, in the old town. In 1686 a large brick church building was built. A church school was also built next to the Lituanian church. It contains 1677-1685 the precentor of this church, Valentin Dach, who was a teacher, is a relative of Siman Dach (1605/1659), a German poet of Lithuanian origin, born in Klaipėda. During 1854 the old Lithuanian church burned down in the city fire. In 1856, according to the project of the German architect A.Stuler, after using the walls of the old sanctuary, a new one was built. The church was a building of three naves, without an apse and a tower, in 42 m length, 23 m. wide and 10 m. height to the roof. At the end of World War II, the church was somewhat destroyed, but in 1946 in the summer, services were held there again, there was a large hole in the middle of the roof, pierced by a shell. About 1959 a unit of the USSR army demolished the building with the help of tanks. A restaurant was built on the site of the church. After 1990 there were plans to buy the plot and restore the church, but everything was just talk.
The model is simple, so it is perfect for beginners and modelers with little experience.
