The emergence of such a Romanesque basilica in a place, that is (at least at the moment) not significant, has not yet been explained. One can only assume, that the founder could have been King Vladislaus II or one of his followers, perhaps Prince and Bishop of Prague Jindřich Břetislav. When the full reconstruction of the basilica was carried out in 2008-2010 together with the archaeological research of the area, it was found, that almost the entire southern wall of the church was built in the 15th century. It was later rebuilt, using new and original stones, but the original Romanesque style of the building was preserved. At the same time, a side Gothic portal with a carved coat of arms of the Vrbiks from Tismicės family was inserted into the wall. This family is said to have been responsible for completing the construction of the church. Subsequent construction changes after 1700 enriched the church with a western entrance extension, a spiral staircase to the chapel and a baroque vault in the nave. The building of the church was completed at the initiative of Duchess Maria Theresa of Savoy in 1767-1775, when the sacristy and chapels were built and the southern tower was raised by one floor and aligned with the northern one. Replaced windows and vault with frescoes (these were restored in 2016-2017).

A simple, but well-detailed model of a small church, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, even a modeler with little experience will stick together, but there is no need to rush. The most complicated thing in this model (as in many church models) is the domed roofs of the towers.
