Shvihov Castle is a medieval fortification, located in the Czech Republic, in the Pilsen region in the southwest of the country. The first information about Shvihovo Castle dates back to around 1375, which was found in documents, confirming the beginning of its building. Shortly after its completion, the castle survived a siege during the Hussite Wars of 1419-1436. A few decades after these wars, probably between 1480 and 1489, it was rebuilt in the late Gothic style. Then it took its final form, consisting of two impressive residential buildings (sometimes called "palaces"), a tower with a bridge and a castle chapel. The wall had several smaller towers in the 16th century, but only four of them have survived to our time. Shvihovo Castle successfully survived both world wars and was nationalized in 1945. It is currently recognized as a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is open to tourists.

An uncomplicated, well-detailed and designed model of a simple, but good-looking castle, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, will stick together perfectly even for novice modelers
