Valtice Castle Palace was built on the site of the castle of the Liechtenstein family, which has been known since the 13th century. The palace complex was originally designed by architect Giovanni Giacomo Tencalla. Later, at the beginning of the 18th century, the project was developed in the late Baroque style as a residence for the Dukes of Liechtenstein by the architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The building of the palace was led by the Italian architect Domenico Martinelli. Some halls and rooms, which have been partially restored, are richly decorated with baroque wall decorations. The Hall of Mirrors, the Art Gallery, the Palace Chapel and the small salon of Princess Carla look especially impressive. Many rooms are decorated with ceiling frescoes. The palace is surrounded by an English park with a Temple of Diana (1812) reminiscent of a Roman arch, a powerful Corinthian colonnade (1832) and other classical-style buildings. Together with the neighboring Lednice manor, with which Valtice is connected by a 7-kilometer linden alley, it is included in the World Heritage List, where it is called the Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape. The princely family of Liechtenstein lost all its privileges after the fall of the Habsburg Empire, that patronized it and in 1918. After the emergence of Czechoslovakia, and after the Second World War in 1945 the palace, like all the property of the Liechtenstein family in Czechoslovakia, was confiscated by the state (see the Beneš decrees). The palace has a famous wine cellar, where tastings and sales of Moravian wines are held every year.

A large, complex, well-designed and richly detailed castle model with park details, intended for intermediate to advanced modelers only. Probably the largest model of the castle, published by "Betexa" publishing house.
