Vranov nad Dyjí Castle (Czech - Vranov nad Dyjí) is a royal castle, standing on a rocky hill, surrounded by forests and rising above the river Dyjí near the town of the same name in southern Moravia, only 16 km west of the district center town of Znojmo. For the first time the castle of Vranov nad Diji was mentioned in the annals in 1100, but it was built much earlier as a royal castle, guarding the border with Austria. All castle buildings are built in Gothic style. In 1323 King John of Luxembourg handed over the castle to Mr. Indržich from Lipa, in 1614 it was bought by Wolf Dietrich from the Altan family. In 1665 a huge fire broke out in the castle. After the fire, it was reconstructed and acquired the appearance it has today - in the baroque style. One of the most attractive places in the castle is the Hall of Ancestors. The castle is open for visits from April to October.
Complex, richly detailed and with a number of complex shapes, a model for intermediate and advanced modelers. One of the most complex (if not the most complex) castle models from the "Betexa' publishing house.
