On the site of the current Sychrov palace from the 15th century, was a fortress. 1690-1693 a small baroque castle was built on the site, in 1820 the castle was bought by the Rohans, an aristocratic family from Brittany (France), who left France during the French Revolution and settled in the Austrian Empire. The Rohans were the owners of the castle for 125 years. In 1945 the palace was nationalized. Since 1950 part of the palace was open to the public. In the 8th decade, a large part of the palace was opened. At the beginning of 20th century in the 10th decade, the reconstruction of the exterior and interior of the palace and the park began. The goal is to restore the palace to look like it did in its heyday (second half of the 19th century). In 1995 the palace was protected by the state as a national cultural heritage.
A medium-complexity model for modelers of any experience, we advise beginners and modelers with little experience to stick this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time. The model is well designed, moderately detailed, not complex, but there are quite a few small details.
