Krivoklat is one of the oldest and most important Czech castles, where the Bohemian kings and Habsburg emperors once lived. The building of the castle was started in the 12th century, but later the castle was expanded and beautified. For some time, Charles IV lived in Krivoklat Castle. It is told about an interesting whim of his: it is said, that he ordered the inhabitants to catch nightingales and release them in the gardens of the castle, so that they would please his wife and beloved daughter. To this day, the so-called "nightingale road" has survived on the territory of the castle. The exterior of the castle is dominated by a 42 m high round tower, nicknamed Big. Inside the castle You can visit the chapel, which is decorated with a fine Gothic altar, the underground prison, where you can see the original instruments of torture. Gothic canvases, sculptures, as well as hunting trophies and other interesting exhibits are stored in the castle museum. Krivoklat Castle stands about 40 km west of Prague.
A medium-complexity model for modelers of any experience, we advise beginners and modelers with little experience to stick this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time. The model is well designed, moderately detailed, without complex details, but due to their abundance and the reproduced mountain terrain, it is one of the most complex castle models, released by "Betexa".
