Kokorzín Castle (Czech: Hrad Kokořín) is located 14 km northeast of the town of Melnik in the Czech Republic. Built in the 14th century in the first half, then it was heavily destroyed during the Hussite wars and stood as ruins for a long time. In 1426 the Hussites occupied the castle and destroyed it. After that, the owners of the castle changed several times and it fell into disrepair. Since 1544, it has been referred to as an abandoned castle. The fate of the castle was complicated by the fact, that Emperor Ferdinand III declared it a "cursed fortress" and forbade rebuilding, fearing, that the strategically located castle could endanger his rule. In 1894 the castle ruins were bought by businessman Vaclav Špaček. His son Jan Kokožin owned it until World War I and reconstructed it in the Neo-Gothic style in 1911-1918. The castle was rebuilt according to the project of architect Eduard Sochora, who was consulted by historians August Sedlaček and Čenek Zibrt. In 1951 the castle was nationalized, in 2001 it was declared a national monument and in 2006 it was returned to the Špačeks in accordance with the act of restitution.

A medium-complexity model for modelers of any experience, we advise beginners and modelers with little experience to stick this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time. The model is well designed, moderately detailed, no complex details.
