Blatna Castle (Czech: Zámek Blatná) is a medieval water castle in the southern Czech town of Blatna, which is 95 km south of Prague. This is one of the oldest Czech castles. The building of the castle began at the end of the 12th century on a small hill in the middle of the marshes, from which the city got its name (Czech Blata - swamp, marsh, bog). Now the castle complex is surrounded by parks and lakes and is considered one of the most valuable architectural monuments of this purpose in the Czech Republic. Along with Švychov and Červena Lhota Castles, Blatna Castle is one of the three best-preserved Czech water castles, and is also one of the oldest plain-type Czech castles.
A medium-complexity model for modelers of any experience, we advise beginners and modelers with little experience to stick this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time. The model is well designed, moderately detailed, with no complex details, except for the tower dome.
