Strakonice Castle (Czech: Hrad Strakonice) is a medieval 12th-century castle in the town of Strakonice in the South Czech region, one of the oldest complexes of its kind in the Czech Republic. The castle is built on a hill at the confluence of the Ottawa and Volynka rivers and is an example of the combination of the architectural types of a feudal castle and a residence of a spiritual order. For a long time the castle served as the headquarters of the Prior General of the Czech Province (from the 17th century - Grand Prior) of the Joanite Order. The castle has been rebuilt several times since its building, so it has preserved the characteristics of many styles, starting with the Romanesque. In 1995 it was included in the Register of National Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic.
A large, beautiful, but simple model, that can be assembled even by novice modelers under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
