The Gothic castle-fortress of Konopishte was built in the 13th century in order to protect the nearby town of Benesovo. Later this castle was rebuilt several times: in the 17th century it became a Renaissance palace. In the 18th century was decorated with baroque elements and acquired its current form in the 19th century. Since the 19th century at the end of the year, Konopishte Castle belonged to the Austrian throne, Archduke Francis Ferdinand, whose assassination in 1914 was the pretext of World War I. Today the archduke's collection of hunting trophies, weapons, armor and works of art is stored in the castle exposition. You can also visit Francis Ferdinand's apartments and other richly decorated rooms.

A great, not too big and not too complicated model, suitable even for beginner modelers, but requires care and attention. Therefore, beginners are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
