Bitov Castle (Czech: Hrad Bítov) is one of the oldest medieval castles in South Moravia, built 9 km northwest of the town of Vranon nad Diji in the Znojmo district. The castle is built on a rocky peninsula, formed by the rivers Zheltavka and Dija, into which the former flows. In 1958 Bitovo Castle was recognized as a cultural monument and since 2001 it has been included in the register of national cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The Slavic settlement was established in this place between the 8th and 10th centuries. Its appearance was caused, most likely, by migration, which began during the period of the collapse of the Great Moravian state. Around 1019, this settlement, together with all of Moravia, was included in the composition of the Czech state. The castle was mentioned for the first time in writings in 1061-1067, when the bishop's tithe was paid to the re-established Staroboleslov chapter, which included a tenth of the income of the Duke of Bethovo Castle in Moravia. According to other sources, the castle was first mentioned in writings in 1046 under the same circumstances. It is believed, that the castle was built by the Czech prince Brzestislav I (1034 – 1055) as an element of the defensive Czech-Austrian border, that was being formed at that time.

A beautiful and large model of medium difficulty, which will be completed by an average modeler without much difficulty. For the less experienced, this model is also "biting", but it is advisable for them to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
