On August 23, 1861 in the suburb of Sevastopol Kherson - Tavrijskij, the cornerstone was laid in the building of the Orthodox church, which was intended to mark the baptism of the Grand Duke of Kiev Vladimir Sviatoslavich in 988. The building works lasted 15 years and was completed only in 1874-1876 with the active participation of the engineer - architect M. Arnold. It was not possible to finish the decoration of the cathedral before the 1000th anniversary of the baptism. The sanctuary acquired its final appearance only in 1891 and only three years later it was consecrated, masses began to be celebrated and other sacred rites were performed. During the Second World War the cathedral was destroyed, the reconstruction works started only in 1990, but they entered the active phase of work only in 2000. The main altar was consecrated in 2004 and sacred rites were started again in the sanctuary.
A rather complex, but beautiful model, that intermediate and experienced modelers can glue together. However, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model is also manageable for modelers with little experience. One downside is, that the paper, on which the details are printed, could be thicker.
