In 1912 a water supply tower was built in the city center of Vinnytsia (Ukraine) according to the project of Grigoriy Artynov, which also served as a fire pump station - its equipment was installed on the top floor of the tower. The first water supply in Vinnytsia, the work of which was enabled by this water supply tower, was 1.3 km long and served up to 600 m3 of water per day. Taking water from the Southern Bug, he supplied it to the city through iron pipes, the water was filtered and settled in the system and fed to the city through three water distribution stations. During World War II this tower, in addition to its main functions, also performed the functions of an observation post. After the war, the tower lost its original purpose and was converted into a residential building. It housed the employees of the city's water supply system, which continued to own the building until 1980. On February 17, 1983 the tower was granted the status of a monument of local architecture and was reconstructed according to the project of architect Yevgeni Panteleimonov. In 1985, as an architectural object, it was handed over to the Regional History Museum. Since that moment, part of the exhibits of the museum's revolutionary and military glory exposition have been placed in the halls of the former water supply tower - fire pump station. Since 1993 the museum's exposition in the tower has been filled with soldiers, who died in the 1979-1989 war in Afghanistan.

A simple, well-designed and beautiful tower model, that even advanced beginner modelers can easily put together under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
