Old Kamienec - Podolsk Castle is a medieval castle in the city of Kamienec - Podolskij, one of the historical monuments of Ukraine. It is believed, that the castle existed back in the days of Kievan Rus (as the citadel of the ancient Russian city), but the brick castle was built by the Lithuanian princes Koriatovichi. From 1362 to 1434, the fortress and the complex with the city's defensive structures became the main outpost of Lithuania, and from 1434 to 1793 - The support of the Polish government in Podole and played a significant role in repelling the Turks and Tatars advancing to the West. Based on 1492 according to the description of the inventory, the castle consisted of towers and stone walls with two gates to the south and north. In the middle of the 16th century, all the wooden fortifications of the fortress were replaced by stone ones under the direction of the architect Job Breitfus. Since then, the castle has acquired a modern appearance. In 1672 The city of Kamenets-Podolskij was occupied by the Turkish army. Since then, the castle bridge has been called "Turkish". At the end of the 17th century, the castle was reclaimed by Poland, and a little later, when the Republic of the Two Peoples was divided, it fell to the Russian Empire. In the 19th century, Kamenec-Podolskij Castle lost its military significance. In 1928, the fortress became a republican reserve, and in 1937 a museum-reserve was established there. Currently, together with the cathedral church and the town hall, it is the main attractions of the city.

The model is large, takes up a lot of space and at the same time is simple. It consists mainly of large parts, the castle is glued together in a frame-less way, using glue and adhesive tapes and laces, which are very abundant. Perfect for beginner modelers. Advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are advised to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Everything can be overcome and done, if you take your time, work patiently, carefully and precisely.
