Kizhi Pogost Architectural Ensemble is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Church of the Intercession of the Virgin was built in 1764 next to the Church of the Incarnation of God. This church is winter (heated), services are held in it from October 1 to Easter. 8 heads surround the central one - the ninth. Its domes are more expressive and proportional, but modest and do not overshadow the beauty of the ensemble's main Church of the Incarnation of God. This church is relatively modestly decorated. A high porch of one march leads to the inner rooms of the church, of which there are four and they are arranged one after the other from west to east. First, there is the vestibule, which is necessary for all northern churches, then the refectory, then the main room, where the iconostasis, which is not original, was built. The last room in the east is the altar, which on the outside is a five-walled apse. On its roof there is an extended "barrel" and it is completed by 10 "heads". The wave of "fulfillment of God's wishes" of the 19th century touched this church as well - the wall between the refectory and the main room was cut down, the walls were plastered from the inside, and the iconostasis was replaced with a carved one.
The belfry was built in 1863 on the site of the old belfry, which was demolished due to aging in 1862. It is a simple building in the form of a square quadrilateral - "chetverik" - with a hipped roof.
Uncomplicated, well-designed, fairly richly detailed models of a beautiful church and modest belfry for modelers of all experience. True, for advanced beginners and modelers with little experience, forming and correctly gluing many domes should be quite a problem. Here, as in all work, they would benefit greatly from the help of a more experienced colleague. Everything can be overcome and done if you take your time, work patiently, carefully and carefully. By the way, if you are going to build this whole ensemble and you have little experience, we recommend starting with the belfry.
